Can I buy cPanel only without subscribing to any server with Net Onboard?

cPanel license is currently not sold separately, you may only get it as an add on option through subscribing to our server packages with Linux as your operating system.

Does Net Onboard provide auto debit facilities ?

We are currently in the midst of applying for auto debit facilities, if you are interested in this, kindly contact our billing department and we will inform you once our facilities are available.

How can I purchase MailEnable from your company?

You may just log on to our Online Billing System to place your order online. After that you may proceed with the payment according to your preferred payment method and send us the payment receipt via fax or email after that. Your order will be processed after we receive the payment notification from you.

How soon will I obtain the MailEnable license key?

Once your payment is cleared, you will receive the license key from us via email within 24-72 hours during office hours (Mon-Fri). If you do not receive any email notification from us after your payment, please contact our billing department as soon as possible to verify your payment.

In which way will you notify me ?

An email will be sent to you automatically once any problems have been detected on your website.

What are the payment methods available?

You may pay via offline payment methods e.g. Cash/Cheque Deposit or even pay online using your credit card or Paypal funds. We accept credit card payments via Paypal only. You may visit our payment page for our bank account details and other payment methods available.

What is cPanel with WHM?

cPanel is a web-based control panel for Linux which allows our customers to manage every single item of their site virtually. WHM saves you time and money by automating and streamlining tedious server management tasks and customization could be done on the control panel. Both are included if you purchase the cPanel license.

What is MailEnable?

MailEnable Enterprise Edition expands on the features of MailEnable Professional and is designed for organisations or ISP’s dealing with high volumes of mail, requiring greater control and flexibility over mail services. Enterprise Edition adds highly functional features such as remote administration, more advanced web mail and web administration, and database connectivity – giving you the power and control required for large-scale operations.

What is DDoS?

DDoS or Distributed denial-of-service attack is an attack in which multiple compromised computer systems attack a target, such as a server, website or other network resource, and cause a denial of service for users of the targeted resource.

How does DDoS affect me?

The DDoS attack will attempt to make an online service or website unavailable by flooding it with unwanted traffic from multiple computers.

For a DDoS attack to be successful, an attacker will spread malicious software to vulnerable computers, mainly through infected emails and attachments.

This will create a network of infected machines which is called a botnet.
The attacker can then instruct and control the botnet, commanding it to flood a certain site with traffic: so much that its network ceases to work, taking the site offline.

How does the Anti-DDoS work?

Detection of Threats by NSFOCUS Appliance.

Automatic Blackhole or Mitigation with preset scripting.

For Clients that subscribe to Persistent Anti-DDOS Protection, all traffic will be sent to a scrubbing farm and only clean traffic is passed to Clients’ Servers. A report will be sent to them if there is a detection of an attack in a monthly basis.

For Clients that do not wish to subscribe to Anti-DDoS Protection while they are being attacked frequently, blackhole will kick in place and release after 2 hours with a preset script.

For Clients that are given complimentary Anti-DDoS with inconsistent attack, as long as their attack is not more than 10Gbps + 10Gbps and less than 30 mins consistent attack. We will help to mitigate with preset scripting and advise client to subscribe persistent Anti-DDoS Protection with attack report.

This server is multi tenanted or single tenanted ?

Servers on Saver plans, SSD Dedicated Server plans and Bigger Resources plans is multi tenanted. If you need a single tenanted environment, please contact our sales department for customisation.

I had just subscribed to one of your plans, but I decided to upgrade to another plan, is it possible?

Yes, it is possible. First, you need to purchase another new plan, then we will schedule a downtime for you to backup your existing server before moving it to a bigger scale container.

What are the servers that Net Onboard provides ?

We have servers from various provider such as Dell, Super micro, Quanta. However, it all depends on availability.

Where are your servers hosted ?

Our servers are hosted at 3 world class tier 3 data center which are CJ1 Center Cyberjaya, Menara Aims Kuala Lumpur and Equinix SG1 Singapore.

What is the delivery time of your server once my purchase has been made ?

All plans purchased will be delivered within the same working day. However, if you need to add on some additional software such as cPanel, Mailserver and etc, it will require an additional one to two working days.

Why is the price of a single tenanted dedicated server more expensive compared to this plan ?

This is because on single tenant, power consumption, rack space and hardware cost is all borne by a single customer. In a multi tenanted environment, customers can enjoy the benefit of cost of averaging.

What is the SLA for this plan ?

We guarantee on 99.9% uptime on server hardware and network.

Does Net Onboard provide money back guarantee or refund services for this plan ?

We regret to inform that this plan is not covered with money back guarantee.

If I need to fulfil Bank Negara Malaysia guideline can I go with this plan ?

We regret to inform that this is a multi tenanted environment while Bank Negara Malaysia strictly requires a single tenanted environment.

How do I transfer from other providers to Net Onboard Business Cloud Hosting?

Firstly, you shall manually make a copy of your web content & database, and to download all email messages to mail client program (e.g. Outlook) for backup purpose, as these data is required in following step to repopulate them inside the new business cloud hosting account.

For clients who are utilizing CPANEL hosting, we can assist you with an auto-migration process by performing a direct migration from your current hosting into our server via the cPanel application. With this auto-migration step, you will not need to do the manual backup and data repopulate process as mentioned above. To achieve this, you will need to provide below information to us:

1. Control Panel URL
2. Hostname / IP
3. cPanel Username
4. cPanel Password

However, if the auto-migration method fails (usually due to web scripting), you shall take over the role to perform manual backup steps at your current hosting account and to repopulate it back in our server.

Important: Due to the differences of the server configuration, management, resources and etc by different hosting providers, we may not be able to perform auto-migration process for all types of hosting account. Is ASP .NET is being supported under Business Cloud Hosting?

Unfortunately, Business Cloud Hosting doesn’t support ASP .NET as it’s being built under Linux Operating System. However, you may consider going for DIY Cloud Server or Dedicated Server with Virtualization with Windows Operating System to accommodate your ASP .NET application.

What is Cloud Storage?

Cloud storage simply means remote storage. With the enablement of Cloud Storage, you can now store your photos, documents & songs remotely instead of locally and enjoy the benefits of mobility / access your data anytime & anywhere.

You can also utilize Cloud Storage as external backup solution for your server and data.

How is Net Onboard Cloud Storage different from another provider?

Net Onboard Cloud Storage is deployed with the concern of data integrity as our priority under clustered of SAN Storage where there is a minimum of 3 Levels Data Protection as listed below:

1st level of data protection is enabled via Hardware RAID.

2nd level of data protection is enabled via RAID 1 over Ethernet within Clustered Storage Server.

3rd level of data protection is enabled via External Backup that store Daily, Weekly & Monthly backups.

In addition to that, you can scale your Cloud Storage space anytime you need it.

How does Net Onboard Cloud Storage work?

Net Onboard Cloud Storage comes with a failover mechanism where real-time replication is happening transparently within Primary & Secondary Storage servers.

In the event of Primary Storage Server failure, the Secondary Storage Server will replace the Primary Storage Server role in minutes.

Additionally, there is also an External Backup server that holds copies of backups (Daily / Weekly / Monthly) drawn from the Clustered Storage Server. The backup service is complementary while recovery from the backup is subject to be chargeable.

Can I start with minimum package and upgrade later?

Yes. Cloud Storage is designed to be scalable; you can always start with the most basic package and scale up later especially when you are not sure how much space or bandwidth is required.

How can I further secure the data stored under Cloud Storage?

For highly confidential data, user is advised to secure it by utilising Encryption Software or Password Protection Software prior to uploading it to Cloud Storage. With this exercise, even if someone got your file, they will not be able to access it without knowing the password or public/private key to decrypt the data.

How can I manage Net Onboard Cloud Storage?

You will be provided with 1 Admin Privilege login account. With this login access, you can perform tasks like FTP account creation, quota setting, activate password protection folder and much more.

How can I store my file at Net Onboard Cloud Storage?

You can store your file with various methods:
1. Transfer Single / Multiple Files with drag & drop as well as remote file synchronization – http://winscp.net/eng/download.php

2. Map the Cloud Storage as local drive utilising sFTP NetDrive – http://www.sftpnetdrive.com/

Can I purchase Net Onboard Cloud Storage for my server or hosting website to perform data backup?

You will need to check with your current shared hosting provider rsync over ssh or Remote FTP is allowed. As industry practice, Remote FTP is enabled so do Net Onboard’s Server and Hosting.

Can I share files from Cloud Storage to general public?

Yes. Any file uploaded under the default folder of public_html will be publicly available. As to achieve this, you can create a FTP account with the access path under public_html and transfer the file to Cloud Storage via FTP Client.

You can further secure the public access file by activating Password Protection function at specific folder through the Web Based Control Panel. However, this can only be executed by the admin of Cloud Storage.

How can someone download the file that I share publicly?

Upon completion of file transfer under the folder of public_html , you can pass the public access link to your client or friend to download it via web browser.
Given the scenario as below:

1. Cloud Storage Access Domain : cs.netonboard.com

2. Folder created under public_html : public

3. File uploaded to be shared : download.zip

How soon can Cloud Storage service be activated after completion of signup and payment?

Net Onboard Cloud Storage can be ready within 30mins upon payment verification. However, the domain propagation delay shall be taken into consideration as well and this process will take 24-72hours as per specified by ICANN.

Is my data fully protected under Net Onboard Cloud Storage?

Yes. Clustered Storage Server provides maximum data integrity & uptime availability with the enablement of 3 Levels Data Protection.

1st level of data protection is enabled via Hardware RAID.

2nd level of data protection is enabled via RAID 1 over Ethernet within Clustered Storage Server.

No. You can upload any file type to the Cloud Storage.

Are there any insurance coverage provided by Data Centres?

Following are the insurances that AIMS DC has purchased for its own protection.

1) Fire
2) Theft
3) Public Liability

Note:
– Above insurance is mainly to protect AIMS, DC own goods. In the event the above case happened, the policy will only cover clients’ parts if that is due to DC negligence. Therefore, client is advised to purchase their own policy for their needs of protection.
– Due to the ISO constraints, the sum of insured, period coverage and insurance agent are not to be revealed.

Can I choose the data center for my servers ?

Sure. Feel free to select your desired data center as you need by making a request from us before we make arrangements for it.

Can I have emergency physical access to Data Centre within a short notice?

Yes, with an email notice and explanation to us prior to any visit. The visit will still need to be accompanied by Net Onboard Technical Team.

How do I manage my server if it is hosted at your Data Center?

At most times, using remote access software such as FTP and TELNET are sufficient for you to be able to access your own server to update and maintain its content of your own server.

Should you require physical access to your server during/after office hours/weekend/public holidays, you need to submit a written notice 2 days in advanced. A Data Center Visit Application Form needs to be filled up and submitted to us for each visit.

How do I proceed to subscribe for your Server Co-Location service?

Firstly, you may proceed to place an order for server colocation at our Billing System. Upon receiving your payment, you will be given a Data Center Visit Application Form to be filled up with your equipment model, serial numbers, IPs etc that you have ordered.

Kindly ensure you have configured and tested the IPs with Remote Management Service & Firewall enabled at your server before deploying it in the Data Center.

Note: The delivery speed of IPs and rack space are subjected to availability. Kindly check with us on the delivery time to ensure your deployment date can be achieved.

Is my server secured to share the rack with other Net Onboard co-lo clients?

You will share the same rack with other Net Onboard’s Co-lo clients if you subscribe for a single server co-location, unless you subscribe to the full rack service.

However, you can rest assured regarding security, the rack is remained locked at all times and no other co-lo client/visitor is allowed to access the rack without the knowledge of Net Onboard and DC technical staff. Each visit by clients to the DC will be accompanied by Net Onboard Technical Team. There are also CCTVs monitoring in the DC.

What are the advantages of co-locating server at DC instead of at office premise?

Yes, you can host your server at your own office. However many have chosen to co-locate the server at DC for the following reasons:

i) Maximum Resource Availability
You can ensure that your site remains accessible to your customers at most time utilizing the DC Internet facilities, without draining your in-house internet resources.
You do not need to have a dedicated support standing by 24x7x365 just to monitor your server uptime. DC has it all for no extra cost.

ii) High Data Protection
Your important data are kept P&C at the Data Center with proper security and audited accessibility, resulting in the lower risk of internal or external data theft.
Multiple copies of data can be stored at different locations for maximum protection.

How can CDN protect my website ?

Cloud server allows customization on dedicated server resources (e.g: vCPU, RAM, HDD & Dedicated Bandwidth) with built-in high availability architecture (HA) to achieve maximum service uptime thank to the enablement of failover mechanism – During the incident of hypervisor server failure, cloud server will be switched to the redundant hypervisor server to continue its operation.

Nevertheless, the hardware cost is covered by Net Onboard and clients can concentrate on business instead of managing the server with Managed Service Subscription. Additionally, the privilege of root access remains with clients where power on /off / restart can be carried out via the web GUI.

How could I confirm that my website speed had increased after activating CDN ?

There are many online benchmarking tools that you can utilise to perform a website speed test.

How long does it take to activate CDN for my website ?

Within the same working day once payment has been made.

In which region is your CDN available ?

Our CDN is available beyond 151 data centers around the world including Asia, China, North America, Latin America & the Caribbean, Europe, Oceania, Middle East and Africa.

cPanel is an easy-to-use software package that allows website owners to quickly and easily run and maintain their servers and websites with ease under a Linux environment without the need of in-depth technical knowledge on Linux.

We highly recommend cPanel for clients that opt for Linux Cloud Server to ease up the administration task.

What are the servers that Net Onboard provides ?

What is the delivery time of customised server once my purchase has been made ?

The server delivery time is normally 3-5 working days, sometimes we might need a longer time if the specific hardware requires us to import it from overseas. But rest assured, it will not be more than 10 working days.

What is the SLA for this plan ?

We guarantee on 99.9% uptime on server hardware and network.

What will happen if there is a hardware failure in my server?

Upon diagnosis confirmation of hardware failure, we will replace your server within 8 hours.

Dedicated Server

Can I have a physical visit to my server ?

Can I install any software or program in to Dedicated Server with Virtualization?

Yes. You have full root-level access to the Dedicated Server with Virtualization to perform any software or program installation as long as the software is legal.

Can I purchase additional IP addresses?

Yes. Each Cloud Server comes with one (1) IP as standard, additional IP addresses can be purchased at RM5/month.

Can I purchase the resources that I need now and scale up later with Dedicated Server with Virtualization?

No. There is no resources upgrade option available with Dedicated Server With Virtualization as all the server comes in a standard package.

However, you may check the next standard package with higher resources or customization is needed in order to cater your new requirement.

As to do so, you can contact Net Onboard Sales / Billing Team as to assist you on the required resources upgrade.

Can I reboot my Dedicated Server with Virtualization?

Yes. You can reboot your Dedicated Server with Virtualization via the Web GUI with a single click on the Reset button.

Do I get any control panel access?

Yes. You will be given Web GUI access as to manage your Dedicated Server with Virtualization. Task like server Power On / Off / Restart as well as root level access to Console Interface can be done via the Web GUI.

Do I need to install operating system updates and security patches on my own Dedicated Server with Virtualization?

As part of our package, Net Onboard’s Provision Team patches the OS before delivering to the client. As for future updates and patches as well as managing of the server, clients have the option to go for 24×7 Managed Service at RM150/month or conduct the activities by themselves with unmanaged condition.

Do I need to subscribe additional backup service for my Dedicated Server with Virtualization?

Dedicated Server with Virtualization is not designed for high availability with failover mechanism as like Cloud Server. Therefore, you may consider to subscribe with another Cloud Storage server in order to perform data backup.

Following are the available backup options:

1. Cloud Storage Backup (External Backup)
You can utilize cloud storage for content backup and usually we will need to configure the backup script to utilize the FTP access to transfer the backup file to external storage. We recommend backup being done for important content (e.g: Web Files & Database).

Do you limit on the number of domains / website to be hosted under Dedicated Server with Virtualization?

No. We do not limit you on the number of domains hosted under your Dedicated Server with Virtualization. You can host as many as you wish as long as the resources of server is enough.

Does Net Onboard provide auto debit facilities ?

How do I upgrade from my current shared hosting plan to Dedicated Server with Virtualization?

Do I need to install operating system updates and security patches on my own Cloud Server?

As part of our package, Net Onboard’s Provision Team patches the OS before delivering to the client. As for future updates and patches as well as managing of the server, clients have the option to go for 24×7 Managed Service at RM150/month or conduct the activities by themselves with unmanaged condition.

Do I need to subscribe to additional backup services for my Cloud Server?

Cloud Server is designed for high availability with failover mechanism as where it contains the following data protection:

1. RAID 1 over Hardware RAID Controller within the Shared Storage.
– If HDD fails we just need to replace the failed HDD, this will not cause any downtime.

2. RAID 1 over the LAN among Clustered Shared Storage.
– If The Primary Shared Storage failed, we can swing to Secondary Shared Storage, this exercise will cause several minutes of downtime for Secondary Shared Storage to take over the Primary Storage Role.
However, the risk of Cloud Server image corruption is there and when this happens it will be disastrous without a backup plan in place. Moreover, data protection can’t be utilized to recover historical data.

Following are the available backup options:

1. Snapshot Backup
(Daily/Weekly/Monthly)
This is a full clone image of the server and we would recommend client to go for weekly snapshot backup at the minimum level.

2. Cloud Storage Backup (External Backup)
You can utilize cloud storage for content backup and usually we will need to configure the backup script to utilize the FTP access to transfer the backup file to external storage. We recommend backing up being done for important content (e.g. : Web Files & Database).

Do you limit on the number of domains / website to be hosted under Cloud Server?

Yes. You can scale up by increasing your Cloud Server resources such as vCPU, Hard Disk Space, RAM and Bandwidth at any time.

How do I determine how much vCPU that I need to subscribe?

Each Hypervisor Server that servers the Cloud Server come with Dual Processors. As the Hypervisor Server is enabled with Hyper Threading Technology, it doubled up the CPU cores.

If you need the power of Quad Core Processors, the number of vCPU that you shall go for would be 8vCPU as each physical core equal to 2vCPU.

As guidance, 4vCPU will be sufficient to run most of the application servers.

How do I upgrade from my current shared hosting plan to Cloud Server?

After I placed a domain order, when shall I pay? Is my domain booked?

After you have placed an order, you may proceed with the payment ASAP.

Please note that your domain is not secured or booked or registered at this point of time until we have received your payment receipt. Actual activation will only be carried out after full payment is received.

In the event that your domain is taken/registered by other parties after you have made the payment, you may either choose another domain name or request for a refund as the actual domain registration has been by carried out by our end.

Can I provide invalid domain info to prevent my details to be revealed to public?

No.

Under the ICANN rules, no one is allowed to provide faulty domain info. All the domain info provided shall be deemed valid and accurate at the point of registration. In the event that the Registrar finds out any suspicious domain with faulty domain info, the domain owner is requested to update the domain info immediately. Failure to do so, the Registrar reserves the right to suspend the domain permanently.

Can I redirect my second domain to my primary domain so that people visiting both domains will see the same web site?

Yes. In this case, you may just purchase a domain forwarding feature to forward the 2nd domain to the primary domain.

Can I register a domain name which shows as Not Available?

No, you cannot register a domain name that is already registered by others. You would have to choose another name that no one has registered before.

We only provide domain registration on available domains. If you wish to buy a registered domain, you may try to contact the current domain owner yourself. You may get the domain owner’s details by performing a WHOIS search.

Can I register only a domain without any hosting plan?

Yes. You may register/renew only a domain with or without any web hosting plan with Net Onboard. You only need to pay for the domain fee. 

You can even use the registered domain to be hosted with another web hosting provider by modifying the nameserver. There is no charge for the nameserver modification.

Can you book a domain name before payment is received?

No, for Internic domain. All domain is to be registered after full payment is received based on first come first serve. There is no booking option available.

Yes, for .my domain. We can assist you to perform a domain booking for a maximum of 14 days and the booking will be cancelled thereafter if no payment is received. Domain registration will be carried out after payment and the supporting documents are provided from your end.

Can you book more than 14 days for .my domain?

If you need more than 14 days to get your supporting documents, we will assist you to re-book your domain after the first booking of 14 days is cancelled by .my Domain Registry.

However, we advise you to speed up the process in getting the supporting document as .my Domain Registry may disallow us to perform booking for the same period for a long duration.

Can you refund a registered domain?

No.

Once your domain has been registered, NO refund will be provided for any reason including spelling error. You may, however still request for the domain to be cancelled (if you wish) but there is strictly NO refund on the domain fee. You will need to pay again for any new domain registration.

Do I get Login ID & Password for my domain name?

You may manage your Internic domain name via our Billing System. Below are the steps:

1. Login to Client Area at http://billing.netonboard.com/clientarea.php
2. Go to My Domains
3. Click on your preferred domain name to manage.
4. You may now change the nameserver, contact information, auto renew & registrar Lock.

Meanwhile for .my domain name, the administrative contact username and password will be sent directly to the registered email address.

Do you have Privacy Protection to protect my info in WHOIS?

Yes, we have the Domain Privacy Protection option that you can enable to hide your WHOIS info being displayed to the public. You can enable or disable this feature easily after logging in to your Client Area > My Domain to manage it yourself.

However, please note that .org and all .my domain name do not support 

Domain Privacy Protection.

Internic domain: Within 2 – 24hours.

The rules to register a .my Domain Name

FYI, .MY Domain is governed by .my Domain Registry. Some keywords have been reserved for special purposes and is not allowed to be used by the public within the domain name such as:
country or state names such as “Malaysia”, “Selangor”, etc

sensitive keywords to the main religions such as “Islam”, “Buddha”, “Hindu”, “Christianity”, etc.
“bank” or “finance company”
‘By themselve’ means contain the country or state names itself can only be applied by the State or GOV. However, a domain
name with the combination of the state or country name is allowed.

What is Managed DNS?

Managed DNS service allows clients to manage the DNS records without having to setup their own DNS server.

Otherwise, you may also subscribe for the Paid service provided and configured at Net Onboard servers for RM30/year per domain. It is recommended that you maintain at least 2 party DNS services for where in the event that one DNS group fails the other group would still be able to resolve properly. You have the option to turn on or off the blocking features.

How IPS work?

So basically, all traffic is directed through the IPS, which can then block or allow the packets based on policy. It can also perform a level of correction or modification if required.


An IDS on the other hand is purely a monitoring device; it cannot act directly on anything it detects. Typically connected via network tap or a span port on a switch / router it sees a copy of a traffic but does not interact with it. Can I renew the certificate for more than a year?

Yes. You can renew your SSL

You can save even more by getting a biennially or triennially SSL package depending on the plans provided.

Can I try an SSL Certificate before purchasing?

No. There is no trial SSL certificate available.

Do I need an additional dedicated IP for the SSL certificate?

For proper SSL functionality it is recommended to have a separate dedicated IP for each certificate. However, nowadays it is possible to install multiple SSL certificates using a shared IP address thanks to the SNI (Server Name Indication) technology. A mandatory use of a dedicated IP is determined by the type of the hosting server.

How do I choose the right SSL certificate?

First, determine your validation type. SSL Certificate is categorized into 3 different types of validation.

Domain Validation
Validation will be done on the verified owner of the domain name. Validation is done via email sent to the domain owner. Domain validated SSL certificates can be issued very quickly, often in minutes.

Organization Validation
When corporate identity validation is important, an SSL Certificate for the organization assures customers that the website is trustworthy and secure. Only verified representatives of the organization may purchase these certificates and business licenses or other proof is required. The Certificate Authority will verify through phone call to ensure that the certificate request is legitimate.

Extended Validation
With Extended Validation, as well as displaying the certificate seal, the address bar is displayed in green, providing customers with an extra level of confidence. The green address bar is a strong visual indication that the site has an Extended Validation Certificate. The Security Status bar displays the organization name and the name of the Certificate Authority (CA). How do I renew my certificate?

You may just make the renewal payment to us as usual and to send us your renewal CSR generated by the Renew Certificate option in IIS. After which, we will issue a new certificate to you where you can replace it with the existing certificate.

How do I choose the right SSL certificate?

It would depend on the type of validation. Domain validation would take a few hours, organization validation would take around 3 to 5 working days while Extended validation would take as long as 7 working days to complete.

How soon can I get my SSL?

It will take 1 to 5 days depends on which SSL you are purchasing.

For Domain Validated SSL Certificate, you may receive the SSL within 24 hours after your domain name is validated and authenticated by GeoTrust.

For a fully authenticated certificate such as Power Server ID or True BusinessID certificate and it can take 3 to 5 days to be issued.

Note: The Certificate Authority (eg. Verisign) will require client to provide certain supporting document during the Domain & URL validation process before the SSL is assigned. Failure to produce the supporting document will cause failure of SSL acquisition.

I lost my private key. Can I get my certificate reissued for a new one?

GeoTrust offer free reissues for the lifetime of every certificate issued. A private key is generated on your server when you generate your CSR. On Windows servers the private key is contained in the ‘Pending Request’. As the name implies, the private key is indeed private and therefore should never be publicly available. You must use the exact same private key with your certificate when you install the certificate files, we issue to you. If the private key is deleted or lost then the certificate will not work. Therefore, make sure to keep your private key in a safe place. If you are using a Windows server, make sure not to delete your ‘Pending Request’.

When can I renew my certificate?

You may renew your SSL Certificate up to 90 days early to avoid lapsed certificates. GeoTrust will add the remaining time on your current certificate (up to 90 days) onto your new certificate’s validity period.
